Very attractive inner dentelles,with name of owner (in gilt) to bottom edge of front pastedown and initials of binder and date of binding (again in gilt) to bottom edge of rear pastedown. Offsetting to facing pages. Bookplate and owner signature to front free endpapers. Text in red and black. Sight rubbing to outer edges and a little browning to contents o/w a really lovely copy. Gilt decorations to compartments of spine, contrasting lettering piece. Top edge of pages gilt. 696 pages. Frontis., extra title page plus 31 plates, each of them delicately and individually hand-coloured in a very professional manner, each with tissue guard. Some decorative initial letters also tinted by hand. The book is foxed but the plates have mostly escaped this because of the guards. A very beautiful volume, uniquely hand-coloured, which would make a wonderful Christening or Wedding present. 80210
