Charming book Original decorated green cloth gilt with white and black rose briar decoration to spine and upper board and new matching green end papers with poetic label to rear pastedown. B/w frontis and illustrations throughout. Top-edge gilt. Extremities rubbed and bumped, the white rose decoration on the spine is faded. Ex-Library copy with blind library stamp to tail of title page and number stamp at tail of content page o/w no other visible markings. Large closed tear to outer margin of pages 449/450, not affecting text. A Lovely copy. VG. An interesting combination of subjects. The foreword explains that the union of the subject Roses with that of sun-dials....was simply a placing together of two garden delights. The book also contains section on the Rosicrucians. 38252
