No titles to boards, no title page and no text. 46 plates in full colour, printed on one side and suitable for framing, 3 of these are smaller double plates and a few are printed as landscape, most are printed in portrait orientation. A couple of the plates have small tears or lack small portions along margins, not affecting illustrations which are all glorious! 80807

First edition. Slim 4to. A beautifully produced poetry book for children with 8 full colour pages produced using chromolithography and 16 other illustrated sepia pages using two-tone reproduction. Green cloth spine and coloured illustrated upper board - again a chromolitho. Sl. browning to endpapers, sl. signs of wear o/w a remarkably clean copy. VG+. Chromolithography was a late 19th century colour printing process which made the colours look very bright and gave them a sheen. The process was robust and lasting so that books like these often seem as bright as the day they were published, the pictures do not fade or discolour. 67446
