The second edition, corrected. 267pp. Original publishers' bds., printed paper labels to upper bd. and spine, spine chipped with small chips to spine label. Some occ. foxing and last leaf very browned. A lovely copy of a scarce work unusually still in its original bds. Milner, 1744-1797, was an evangelical cleric. Friend to William Wilberforce and a very successful head of Hull Grammar School, he is chiefly remembered for his Three Volume History of Christianity. This work has recently been republished. His object was to bring out into greater prominence the bright side of church history. (D.N.B.) 7772
