First edition. 4to. 528pp. Full coloured frontis., tipped in coloured plate both displaying needlework and 11 full coloured fashion plates displaying "The Newest French Fashions" Expressly Modelled for "Sylvia's Journal." Dated each from January 1892-November 1892. As the journal itself finishes at November 1892, this is complete. Numerous b/w ills. in text with many more examples of fashion. Original illustrated green cloth, printed in blue, black, flesh and gilt displaying two ladies of fashion in a drawing room scene with gilded bird cage, there is a standing third lady to spine. Bds. spotted and worn at extremities. Inner hinge repaired with tape, affecting the first gathering. Pages brown but plates are very clean. VG. 27654
