All plates present including two very early photographs of the Amazon and a portrait frontis of Wallace, the co-discoverer with Darwin of the priciples of Natural Selection. Very handsomely bound in full maroon calf gilt by The Relfe Brothers, London. Gilt crest of Soham Grammar School to upper board with gilt decorations to spine and gilt borders to boards. Very lovely marbled edges and endpapers. School prize bookplate to front free endpaper. Occasional light foxing otherwise a remarkably clean and fresh copy.
