CRADDOCK, Harry. The Savoy Cocktail Book. Decorations by Gilbert Rumbold. FIRST EDITION WITH TWO HAND-WRITTEN AND SIGNED LETTERS FROM CRADDOCK ATTACHED TO ENDPAPERS. 1930 Constable & Company. London. 1930. First edition, first state with Baccardi cocktail errata slip to page 25. TWO SIGNED HAND-WRITTEN SHORT LETTERS FROM HARRY CRADDOCK ATTACHED TO ENDPAPERS, BOTH ON SAVOY HOTEL WRITING PAPER - Harry has added American Bar by hand above the Savoy Hotel heading of both letters. Both are dated 1931. One says to use fresh lemon juice as he has no use for the artificial ones that are on the market and the second letter gives advice on where to get the same cocktail shaker as is used at The Savoy - Elkington's of Regent Street. A magazine cutting with photo of Harry at work is also tipped-in opposite first letter. Pencilled cocktail recipes by owner to lined pages at rear created for this purpose. Liquor labels attached to rear endpapers. Prelims foxed, pages slightly browned. Original illustrated foiled silver boards - printed in green and black. Black cloth backstrip, cloth split vertically along spine. Boards are rubbed and there are signs of use but this is a unique copy of this iconic cocktail book. 83115
