Profusely illustrated with very attractive steel engravings which include plates with paper guards, illustrations in text and decorative initial letters and head and tail-pieces. In the deluxe publisher's full maroon morocco binding on heavy boards, embossed, panelled and extensively decorated in gilt. The edges and joints are worn especially at head and tail of spine though the main areas of spine and covers are in good condition. The inner hinges have been reinforced professionally. All edges of pages gilt, prelim pages chipped and browned to outer edge. Two neat 19th Century ownership inscriptions. Silk ribbon bookmark. Contents remarkably clean and fresh. 76598
